Sunday, June 5, 2016 | 2:00 PM

The Wisconsin Visual Art Achievement Awards honor those individuals, institutions, and organizations that have greatly contributed and enhanced the visual arts in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has been home to nationally and internationally recognized artists since the 19th century and the State continues to cultivate and nurture the careers of prolific visual artists working in the present day. The annual Visual Art Achievement Awards are presented at the Museum of Wisconsin Art each year with a ceremony and reception. This wonderful event celebrates all facets of Wisconsin's visual art culture. The public is welcome to attend.

NEW BOOK AT AMAZON and Barns and Noble featuring Terrence Coffman entitled Artists' Homes And Studios

"Go behind-the-scenes of the art world as you tour the homes and studios of 86 international artists. Some studios are large, with lovely high ceilings and oversized skylights. Some are modest, even cramped. Some are amazingly pristine and carefully ordered with drawing spaces, painting galleries, and meditation zones. Some are a study of chaos, but in all of them the artists are inspired to create. Whether working in oils or pastels, sculpture or glass, ceramics or wood, today s artists are as varied as their work, with studios that range from chicken coops and horse barns to entire islands and extra bedrooms. Through 321 color images, enjoy this glimpse into contemporary artists' lives."

A special Edition of Coffman's book, A Walk Through the Wheatfields: The missing journals of Vincent van Gogh is now available by contacting me at terrence.coffman@sbcglobal.net

This box set of the three journals is contained in a handmade reproduction Smithsonian box. Inside are the Journals, the petition to have Vincent removed from his house in Arles, a letter from Smithsonian and National Gallery officials attempting to confirm the authenticity of the Journals and a diary entry from the young girl who was with Vincent when he died.

All the materials are distressed and hand finished by Terrence James Coffman.

To place an order for the BOX and journals contact the artist at terrence.coffman@sbcglobal.net
